My ultimate Favourite things about Autumn.

It’s that time of year again when the Summer is definitely well and truly over; the nights draw in, the air gets colder, and it’s easy for everything to feel a bit more dreary…Well fear not, because it’s not all doom and gloom! If you’re someone who isn’t into the cold and is already dreaming of next year’s summer (believe me, this used to be me) then follow me and let’s look at some of the big positives of Autumn and reasons to be excited about the months ahead!

1. Vibrant Colours

One reason why we all love Summer is the bright sky, sea, green trees and golden beaches. Well Autumn can be just as colourful as summer! Look at the leaves changing on the trees and you’ll soon start to notice the vibrant yellows, sunburnt oranges, red tones and deep purples.

2. Crisp Autumn Walks

One thing I love most about Summer is the long days and being outside! So in Autumn make sure you grab a coat, whack on your hat, scarf and gloves and make the most of the sunlight; get outside and breathe in the crisp fresh air. Sunday Autumn walks are personally one of my favourite things to do (especially if there’s a hot chocolate to treat myself to along the way…)

3. Homemade Soups

By this time of year the last thing I want is a salad. Nope, what I want is homemade soup. There are so many easy recipes out there to make , my personal favourites being Tomato with Pesto, and Moroccan flavoured soups. So get creative and use whatever vegetables you already have lying around in your cupboards; mix in a vegetable stock cube and bam! With your soup made, believe me you’ll feel all warm and cosy inside, sipping away whilst curled up on the sofa.

4.Cosy evenings

So after you’ve had your Autumn walk and homemade soup, it’s time to put on your fluffy PJs, wrap a blanket around you and snuggle down on the sofa in front of your fluffy PJs, wrap a blanket around you and snuggle down on the sofa in front of your favourite film! My personal favourite films around this time of year are the first Harry Potter films. They get me into the festive spirit and add a bit of magic to the dark, long Autumn evenings.

5.Candles

I am a candle fanatic! So autumn is the perfect time for me to embrace this. I light at least one candle every night, and the scents that fill my home instantly make me feel warm and happy. I tend to vary the scent depending on what mood I am in. My personal favourite candles are the Yankee Candle Simply Living collection that I get from Asda; you have to try ‘Santa’s Treats’ and ‘Candy Cane Forest’ mmm! And that concludes my personal Top 5 Things about Autumn! So shake off the end-of-Summer-blues, pull your Winter clothes out of your wardrobe and embrace Autumn in all of its natural Beauty! You never know, it could become your favourite season!
